LHI Lighthouse Institute AG takes the protection of your data very seriously. We process your data in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. Data will only be transmitted to third parties where this is necessary for contract fulfilment. Such third parties may include payment service providers or logistics companies. No further transmission of data will take place, or only if you have expressly consented to it.

Withdrawal of your consent to data processing

Certain data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may withdraw consent you have already given at any time. An informal notification by email to adressen@lhi.ag is sufficient. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

After you object to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes or withdraw your consent, we are legally obliged under data protection law to permanently include the data required to enforce this (company, name, address, email address) in our internal advertising block list, so that your marketing objection or consent withdrawal can be observed on an ongoing basis.

Data portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract delivered to you or to third parties. For your security, your data is encrypted using an SSL website certificate (Secure Socket Layer). This is an encryption standard also used, for example, in online banking. You can recognise a secure SSL connection by, among other things, the appended “s” to http (i.e., https://…) in your browser’s address bar or by the padlock symbol in the lower area of your browser.

Processing of your data

The information you provide to us when registering for an event is processed first and foremost for the execution of the event and for invoicing (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Providing data marked as mandatory is required for your participation and/or invoicing. We store your data from participation in events and other orders, as well as the associated documents, after the contract has been fulfilled in accordance with statutory requirements.

Data that we obtain in the course of your registration and participation in events, through your purchase of goods, the receipt of paid and free services and information materials (e.g., downloads), and via enquiries submitted through contact forms and by email, is processed to the extent permitted by law. We store this data until we receive a withdrawal of your consent or your objection to the processing of your data for advertising purposes.

We process this data so that we can address you personally and according to your needs. We inform you by post and/or email about our products and services only when we believe this information is relevant and of interest to you. For this purpose, the necessary data (as a rule, company, street, postcode, city, title, first name, last name, position) may be transmitted to external service providers (e.g., lettershops). The data is intended for these providers solely for the one-time and exclusive purpose of providing the service and must be deleted there immediately after the service has been rendered.

Email newsletter

To send our newsletter, we require your email address. Verification of the email address provided is necessary and receipt of the newsletter requires your consent. To obtain your consent to email advertising, we use the “double opt-in” procedure. In this context, your IP address is also recorded and stored for documentation purposes. The data you provide when registering for the newsletter is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal notification by email to adressen@lhi.ag is sufficient, or you can use the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.

Data entered to set up the subscription will be deleted in the event of cancellation. If this data has been transmitted to us for other purposes elsewhere, it will remain with us for those purposes.

Server log files

The provider of the website automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us in server log files. These are:

There is no merging of this data with other data sources.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from YouTube for the integration and display of video content. The provider of the video portal is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When a page with an integrated YouTube plugin is accessed, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. This informs YouTube which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can directly associate your browsing behaviour with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

Google Analytics

Our website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses “cookies,” small text files that your web browser stores on your device and that enable an analysis of website usage. Information generated by cookies about your use of our website is transmitted to a Google server and stored there. The server location is generally the USA.

The setting of Google Analytics cookies is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. As the operator of this website, we have a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise our web offering and, where applicable, our advertising.

IP anonymisation

We use Google Analytics in conjunction with IP anonymisation. This ensures that Google shortens your IP address within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission to the USA. In exceptional cases, Google may transmit the full IP address to a server in the USA and shorten it there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide us with further services related to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

Data processing agreement

To fully comply with statutory data protection requirements, we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.

Demographics in Google Analytics

Our website uses the “Demographics” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. These data come from Google’s interest-based advertising and from visitor data from third-party providers. The data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as explained under “Objection to data collection.”

Twitter

Our website uses functions of the Twitter service. The provider is Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.

When using Twitter and the “Re-Tweet” function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and published in your Twitter feed. Data is transmitted to Twitter in the process. Our website uses functions of the LinkedIn service. The provider is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For data protection matters outside the USA, the responsible entity is LinkedIn Ireland, Privacy Policy Issues, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Websites on which the plugin is integrated cause your browser to download the corresponding components from LinkedIn. This gives LinkedIn knowledge of which specific sub-page of our website you are visiting. If you are simultaneously logged into LinkedIn, this can be associated with your LinkedIn account. If you do not want such an association with your LinkedIn account, you can prevent this by logging out of your LinkedIn account before accessing our website.

By clicking the LinkedIn plugin, the websites you visit are linked to your LinkedIn account and disclosed to other users.

We do not receive any information about the data sent to LinkedIn. We have no knowledge of the purpose and scope of data collection or the further processing and use of the data by LinkedIn. XING

Our website uses functions of the XING service. The provider is XING AG, Dammtorstrasse 30, 20354 Hamburg, Germany.

Websites that use the “XING Share Button” function establish a short-term direct connection via your browser to XING servers.

The “XING Share Button” function serves in particular to calculate and display the counter value. To our knowledge, XING does not store any personal data about you when you access this website. In particular, XING does not store IP addresses. There is also no analysis of your usage behaviour through the use of cookies. We do not receive any information about the data sent to XING.

Where the statutory requirements are met, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR) and the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
